Final Reflection Microteaching

Microteaching class has been finished. Hopefully, I pass this subject well. In this time, I would like to write my reflection in microteaching class journey, include before and after joined this class. ☺ Before Joining Microteaching Class My first impression when I took this Micro Teaching or PPL1 class is “Oh, No! I want to avoid this subject!”. But, there is no other choice. It is an obligatory subject and it means that I must take this subject to pass my study in English Language Education Study Program. Honestly, I knew nothing what should I do in this class. What I knew that every student will be prepared became a teacher. He or she will practice teaching the classmates and also junior semester students. ☺ After Joining Microteaching Class Week to week came fast. I learnt and learnt many things in microteaching class. I learnt about the criteria of a good teacher that some of them are difficult for me to apply them. I realized that I was not a communicative enough person. I learnt also about the attitudes how to teach in front of class and teaching strategies. During joining the microteaching class, I got many great experiences. I have had teaching practice four times. They were peer teaching, group teaching, classmate teaching (as First progress test and final test), and junior teaching as the second progress test. Peer teaching and group teaching were easier for me. But, I found many difficulties in class teaching whether teach my classmates or my junior. I still remember that I got worse mark in my first class teaching. It made me loss my confidence. But, I realized that it was a process for me becoming better and better. I tried to improve my skills more and more. I learnt for my friends’ teaching. It was very useful for me. I experienced also how to be observer for my friends. It was not easy. I must observe them objectively (honestly, I feel pity that I must give them low mark). Now, the microteaching class has finished. I am ready to continue my learning process in PPL2. There, I will explore what I got in microteaching class. Whatever will be, I will not be afraid anymore. Hopefully… In my opinion, a good teacher is should be like a Barongsai player, who must master the stage. I can pick you an example from the performance. When a player are falling from the table and getting miss scenario action, he should pretend and doing something else in covered his mistake or accident. A good teacher can mastering the field and always ready to face unpredictable situation. It does not mean that a good teacher is hypocrite person. He must have enough idea or strategies to teach in the class with so many different and unique students. croteaching class has been finished. Hopefully, I pass this subject well.
